The Gospel
God Created Us to Know Him
"For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible...all things were created through him and for him." — Colossians 1:16
God is the Creator of all things, and He made us to know Him, to love Him, and to enjoy a relationship with Him forever. He created the first man and woman in His own image and placed them in a perfect world with no sin, no suffering, and no death. Everything was exactly as it should be.
Our Sin Separated Us from God
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." — Romans 3:23
But our first parents chose to disobey God, and sin entered the world. Every person since has been born with a sinful nature — we have all rebelled against God in our thoughts, words, and actions. The Bible says the wages of sin is death — not just physical death, but eternal separation from God. This is the problem that no amount of good works, religious activity, or self-improvement can fix.
Jesus Christ Paid the Penalty for Our Sin
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8
Here is the good news: God loves us and He made a way. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life that we could never live. Then He willingly went to the cross and died in our place, taking the full punishment for our sin upon Himself. Three days later He rose from the dead, proving that He is who He claimed to be — the Son of God — and that His sacrifice was accepted by the Father.
You Must Respond by Faith
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." — Ephesians 2:8-9
Salvation is a free gift — it cannot be earned and it is not deserved. God calls every person to repent (turn from sin) and place their faith (trust) in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. It is not about being good enough. It is about trusting in what Jesus has already done for you.
If you would like to place your trust in Jesus Christ today, you can talk to God right now through prayer. Here is a simple prayer to guide you:
Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross for my sins, and that He rose from the dead. I turn from my sin and I put my trust in Jesus alone to save me. Thank You for the gift of eternal life. Please help me to live for You from this day forward. In Jesus' name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer and meant it from your heart, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us — we would be glad to help you take the next steps in your new walk with Christ.
